What People Are
Saying...
| “As a thirty-three year professional designer and the current President of the Pennsylvania East Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, I am pleased to read a book that explains how to create the often allusive but definitely desired feeling of well being and comfort in our homes. "What Color Is Your Slipcover?" presents easy methods that explain why certain fabrics, colors, and furniture resonate with our instincts and why we simply feel better when we are surrounded by them.
I align with Denny's easy to understand explanations of why we instinctively relate to one object versus another, and agree with her challenge to not be afraid to accept the sometimes uncomfortable realization of these discoveries. By embracing this kind of advice we are more apt to create a personal environment that is healthier, vibrant and desirable.
Congratulations Denny!"

| "Denny! -- I couldn't put it down ("THE BOOK"!!!) I'm exhilarated and feel that my approach to design has been elevated to a much higher level. I cannot wait to integrate "What Color is Your Slipcover," into my design practice.
You simply must get your message out to all designers. I feel so strongly about it. I want them all to experience my awakening, enthusiasm, and energy received from "What Color is Your Slipcover."
Thank you for your tremendous gift".

| “I highly recommend that design professionals attend one of Denny's lectures or workshops as I found the experience not only educational but entertaining! I enjoyed her informal format and the open exchange of ideas with her and other attendees.
The explanation of the design process outlined in "What Color Is Your Slipcover?" was fascinating. I realized that in my professional process I sometimes do a similar kind of analysis of a client's tastes, etc. Denny' s lecture encouraged me to continue finding ways to do more, and how essentially important that really is. That's where this book comes into play so well. It can be a workbook used to help a design professional achieve a better understanding of their client; or it can be a book for anyone interested in getting in touch with their interior spaces and living environments.”

| “As I contemplate the many ways the workshop has affected me, I sift through memories of the process, particularly the tears that accompanied my growing realization that dedication to creating a beautiful, organized and nurturing home was a worthy life goal. One after another, your exercises invited and challenged me to discover and articulate my likes and dislikes, my wants and needs, my longings and intentions, as well as my values and priorities. Consistently, the most truthful and illuminating answers were born from a wedding of mind and heart. What emerged was a sharper, clearer image of the real me as well as the design for a living space based on that reality.
Now, I have a home that does what the workshop promised. Indeed, the house looks after me, holds me when I need to be held and launches me when I want to fly. Neither of us is complete, and together we are evolving. Each day, as I see her exude an inner beauty and warmth perhaps absent before, I feel an abiding sense of peace and satisfaction. Through the workshop, I found the permission to love my home unabashedly, and this freedom opened my heart. Amazingly, I now love everyone, including myself, more deeply.”

| "Bless you, bless you, bless you.....I am so grateful to you for sharing your insight and experience. Your beloved object is perfect for you! You invite us all to dance and treat everyone equally...the artistic, the compulsive, the lonely, the brave...the paying customers and the ones who only know you through your book...(I also like that your object is so SIMPLE yet so ROUGH! Like your ideas: I found out simple truths about myself, but they were rough to face!) Thank you, Ms Daikeler, for helping me create a home for myself and my family to really grow and LIVE in."

| “I bought your book – congratulations! This 700-square foot apartment is for physically challenged people and it is just right for Rolf’s stroke leftovers. Most homeowners cannot imagine how perfectly happy two people can live in such a small space. There are gifts galore and from every family member, pieces of art work. As you said in your book, “vitamins for the soul” all over the place. We laid out the furniture to allow a wide walking path in the shape of an 8 through the whole space. Now we can exercise even on hot, cold, or rainy days.

| "I've started your book and I love it! I got to page 12 and decided to clear out a whole bookshelf of stuff that wasn't important to me. I'm going out to buy my sketchpad and some magazines today and will try not to do anything rash before I read on. Thanks for continuing to be such an inspiration - I even set the book down face-down so I see your picture and smile when I come back to it."
